French-Mexican composer and cognitive scientist Bruno Louchouarn’s music has been performed at venues internationally. He has extensive film, theater, and dance credits, ranging from the futuristic cantina music in Total Recall, to sound art exhibited at the Liverpool Biennial, UK. His recent works are interdisciplinary in nature and favor site-specific works. His musical compositions are informed by his studies in cognitive musicology and often focus on the narrative structure of myths, and the interaction of music and visual movement. Louchouarn lectures widely on this subject and teaches at University of North Carolina School of the Arts.

Alcances, commissioned by the Pasadena Biennial 09, premiered by pianist Vicki Ray and the Los Angeles Percussion Quartet.
